Random Tuesday Thoughts!

randomtuesday
I’m feeling random today and haven’t done a RTT post for quite a while, so bear with me!
As if I didn’t already want spring badly enough, we just had another huge blizzard here in MN, mother nature dumped another foot and a half of snow on us Sunday night and Monday. This came on the heels of an unseasonably warm week (upper 40’s, even a low 50), where we lost almost all of our snow cover. I guess winter was telling us she’s not through with us just yet! So, now the ‘flooding’ talk begins, which always cracks me up just a little bit. The question that we hear the (brilliant) news anchors ask is ‘I wonder what this will mean for flooding’? Now, I am no expert here so please don’t take this word as gospel, but I’m pretty sure it means that when the temperatures warm up again, the snow will turn to water and we will have a problem. Don’t hold me to that though, let’s just wait and see what happens.
My poor little guy had a bout with the stomach flu this past week and we actually had him into the e.r. to be treated for some mild dehydration. He did pretty well there but has been a bit cranky and extra snuggly since then…it sure takes their little bodies a while to catch up from an illness. Had him back into his regular doctor yesterday and all looked well. I will take him in for a weight check in a couple weeks though since he lost 6 oz, we just want to make sure it comes back when his appetite increases!
Speaking of weight loss and appetites, I hopped back onto the Weight Watchers bandwagon again last week and am feeling really good about things. Even though I blew almost all of my extra weekly points the very first day!!!! And to think that I did that in just one meal Benjamin and I met my brother for lunch on Saturday and I had already gone on-line to figure out what I was going to order and how many points it would be. My friend told me that very morning at the meeting to not even look at the menu, just order what I had decided to get. Sounds easy enough, right? Except I didn’t WANT a salad, so I ordered a sandwich instead…a sandwich with a ridiculous amount of points. And that was even with a side of steamed broccoli, in lieu of the pasta salad. Live and learn…hoping to rebound the rest of the week so that I have a good weigh-in on Saturday morning! Just for fun, here is a picture of Benjamin with his Uncle Dan.

I am looking forward to Hollywood Week on American Idol, finally! That’s when things start to get really good. I’m not too happy that they have changed the nights to Wednesday and Thursday, instead of Tuesday and Wednesday. I never minded missing the ‘results show’ because there was just a bunch of crap and lead up and I could always hop online to see who got the boot. However, now that the actual singing is on Wednesdays, I miss most of it because it is a church night for us. I suppose one of these days I might have to crack down and buy a TiVo or something…except I have no idea what to do with it, LOL!
And while we are on ‘reality TV’ since the only other show I indulge myself in is The Bachelor/Bachelorette, what is up with the choice being SO obvious this year. Will anyone else be surprised if the ol’ bachelor does NOT end up with Emily? DUH!!!! When did they decide to throw the intrigue and guess work out of the show?
I suppose that’s about it for this random Tuesday post…I’m a bit sleepy and break time is over so must get back to work.
I hope you all are doing well. God bless!

  1. There's lots of flu going around. My young lady just got over it and now has a cold. It's never ending when they are in school.

I'm right there with you not happy about American Idol being on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday night - Tuesday's were much more convenient for watching!

I was so sad this week to see Chris Medina go...I knew it would have to happen, but it was such a heartbreaking story that went with it...
