S is for Staying the Course...

My heart is breaking. Some of you know, most of you don't. My marriage is in trouble and has been for quite some months now. My husband and I have been separated since just before Thanksgiving. I continue to pray for reconciliation, which God has promised me on more than one occasion, however...our ways are not His ways and our paths not His paths. As I was praying just this morning, asking God if there was another way to go, an easier way, He simply told me to 'stay the course'...He told me that He was proud of me, His beloved child. As magnificent as it is to hear from the Creator of the universe....it's not always easy to accept what He has for us. While it was reassuring to hear that I am to continue on this path right now...it isn't always a path I want to be traveling. I take comfort in knowing that I am in God's will, but that certainly does not come without a good deal of pain at times. I continue to put my faith, hope, love and trust in the Almighty!

As Jesus Christ prayed in the garden before being taken away to His death...
Luke 22: 42 'Father, if it is your Will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.'

May God bless all of you!

  1. I am so sorry to hear that your marriage is in trouble. I hear that so much lately that I know that Satan is trying his best to destroy the institution on marriage. I pray that God will continue to comfort and encourage you. I will be praying for God's will to be done in your life.

  2. I do hope you get your reconcilliation eventually,, I didn't like to ask earlier about your marriage but I did wonder, You are a good mother to Benjamin and was/is a good wife.
All will come right in it's own time.
    Take care.

  3. Trudy, so sorry I have not been here.

I think of you often and hope life is getting easier for you, so I was sad to read your post.

My bit of advice, FWIW, is to worry about you and Benjamin for now. And JUST you and Benjamin. If he wants to do the work to earn your trust and love again, he can do it -- then you can decide if that is what you really want. *hugs* I would hate for you to settle for less than you deserve. You are an amazing woman and mom. Just remember that.

  4. Staying the course and keeping the faith is about all we can do sometimes. But this to shall pass and it's just part of what you are to become. Remain true to your values and trust God and all will be well.
